Works in Progress
I have a number of things in the works at the moment, I'll post a longer teaser when my comp is back up and working again. I will say I'm re-editing the Brotherhood at the moment, so that sould be available soon, then I have a number of different ideas I'm going to work on, some more short fiction and another novel soon.
I would like to learn to code in unity, it's just finding the time. I've done simple coding in html and AS2.
Right now my wife and I are learning how to speak Japanese. That and working on this website don't leave me with much free time :-)
Hey Everyone,
I'm starting work on designing Ruena's bodyguard's costume to debut at Comicon 2009. I've been researching historical brigandines for inspiration. George is going to look AWESOME. Hopefully, I'll have sketches by the end of March.
Hope springs eternal that Kenji, that mystical man from O'tano-en, that mysterious wanderer of the Peaks, that character who has - for three years now - been beating on my cranium from the inside, demanding to be realized in fiction, might actual find a home in Gallidon...
Thanks, Darkrounge. We're still doing a lot of tire-kicking and monkeying around under the hood (the new wiki is looking sweet - should have it live soon!) but we're hoping people see the possibilities for this idea.
We're planning on a bit of effort at promoting the site in the coming weeks. So far, we've done very little to get the word out.
I'm still grappling with the idea of a comedic serial about two Imperial guardsmen whose post at the gates of the Emperor's palace is deathly quiet, giving them plenty of time to wax poetic. When time allows and the bug strikes, it'll find it's way here in serial form.
Hi Malabor,
Keep in mind the Emperor's Palace is locked away behind an impenetrable storm, possibly destroyed. The Emperor and most of his household are missing. The Imperial Guardsmen, those that survive, are disbanded.
Check out The Destruction and Kytun Iye: Release for more details.
That said, two royal guards waxing poetic before the gates of any of the new kingdom palaces (or pompous Duke, etc.) would ROCK!
I've started on three different RoG projects.
- A novel about a Kaday family problem, starts in Kinbornu but ends up traveling around the world. I wanted to capture a bunch of the world rather than focus in one area. My goal is to finish this within a year and around 90,000 words. I believe this is going to take a lot longer, so I'm not trying to rush it out.
- A short story set before or around the time of Destruction that leads into my novel. Almost like a prologue, but set too far in the past to be included as a prologue. My goal is to finish this within a month or two. I'm still flushing out particular aspects of my characters and locations, but I have the short story concept in mind. Just need to start writing it in narrative fashion.
- The WotC d20 GSL compatible DnD 4th edition campaign guide for RoG. I've read through the GSL agreements and I think it's definitely can be done. I might need some help fitting the RoG elements into 4th edition, so if there's any more DnD players out there we can start our own discussion thread in a little bit to discuss details. I'll handle the writing and making sure we stay within the agreement of the GSL. I believe that I'll need to write most of the classes (something like Noble seems like a good offshoot of Bard/Wizard mix) and elite classes (like Imperial Guardsman). This will also contain a mini-adventure that is probably something out of my novel plans, unless someone else comes up with a good mini-adventure. I'll probably also need to modify the magic and spells and write out how to use RoG magic and rituals within the framework of d20. My goal is to finish this within a few months.
(The GSL is the d20 Game System License that specifies how to build DnD 4th edition compatible documents. This will have to be a PDF download, so I can include the WotC logos that's required by the license agreement. )

Greetings everyone,
We're slowly beginning to get the word out about the site – it's proving a bit harder to get people to wrap their head around the idea of the site than we expected. We're having a lot of internal debate about how to first present Runes of Gallidon – as a fantasy world of entertainment or as a collaborative project. What do you think?
Meanwhile, I'm working on the novella; DEATH IN TAR MIRA. It takes place entirely within the city-state of Tar Mira but will not result in the destruction, demolition or sack of the city. So feel free to play along. I've also got several other projects on the burner. Two of them take place in the High Hills concerning a minor noble descended from the Corvus family, Kytun Iye, the Scourge and an Imperial impostor. Another is an RPG adventure set near Gull Port. I'm also plotting a major set of stories that take place around Mulcar.
Scott Walker is working on a set of stories that take place in the Illuminated Peaks involving a rogue graduate from a rogue school of sorcery.
Sydney Lee Berner has submitted a number of landscape paintings – watercolors and ink – illustrating the Illuminated Peaks and other areas.
Richard Steele already has several flash fiction pieces in the publishing queue, including the introduction of a knightly order.
Andy Underwood has begun work on a conceptual sketchbook from which he intends to build a series of 3D models using Maya.
What are you working on?
